Viv is a senior associate in the international arbitration team.
Viv specialises in international arbitration – both investment treaty and commercial arbitrations – with a particular experience in the energy sector. She has acted in arbitrations held under a variety of rules (ICC, LCIA, HKIAC, SIAC, UNCITRAL, ICSID, JCAA, Swiss Rules of International Arbitration and DIFC-LCIA), seated variously in London, Singapore, Hong Kong, Tokyo, Geneva, Dubai, and DC. She represents clients in Europe, Asia Pacific and the Americas across a wide array of business sectors – in addition to the energy sector – construction, automobile manufacturing, biotechnology, real estate development, medical software and a variety of private equity funds. She is also well versed in representing both investors and States in investor-State disputes. Viv has particular experience of litigation proceedings in support of arbitration before the English, Hong Kong, Singapore, Indian and Japanese courts, successfully obtaining and enforcing emergency arbitrator relief, interim relief and antisuit injunctions enforcing arbitration agreements.Viv is active in the wider arbitration community. She was the ICC YAAF representative for North Asia (Hong Kong). She is currently a serving member of Delos' Guide to Arbitration Places committee and co-curator of the GAP Headnote Series, which features a case law development on arbitration in over 60 jurisdictions. Viv is also a member of the editorial board of the IBA's Dispute Resolution International journal.
In addition, Viv also has experience of insolvency related disputes and regularly advises on insolvency disputes with an arbitration angle.
