Velyana is an associate in the corporate team.
She joined the firm from JAG Shaw Baker when they merged with Withers to create a new legal offering, Withers tech, in 2018.
Prior to starting as a trainee, Velyana interned at the European Parliament and at a French law firm. She also worked as a corporate paralegal at three different law firms which helped her gain extensive experience in transactional work assisting on M&A and private equity deals.
At university, Velyana co-founded her own society, 'Corporately Aware', which aimed to help students pursue a career in the corporate sector. She also took part in the 'UK Commercial Awareness Competition 2016', organised by the Aspiring Solicitors, where her team reached the quarter-finals, facing the final 20 teams out of the 200 teams initially participating.
