Brett is our learning and development manager in the human resources team.
He is a highly effective and engaging learning and development professional, with a wealth of knowledge and experience in current learning and development best practice.
There are two main areas of focus within Brett's role, one is ensuring trainees receive the development and support they need to qualify, and then that those qualified solicitors receive the development they need to progress their careers. The second area of focus is ensuring our support staff have the skills they need to thrive within their speciality, manage their teams and work effectively with others.
This is primarily achieved through designing and delivering bespoke training and engaging external specialists to deliver a range of effective developmental interventions, all in close cooperation with key internal stakeholders.

I enjoy helping people become even more effective within their chosen field
I'm fascinated by what 'makes people tick' and use this knowledge to help individuals, teams and organisations perform better, I work hard to make my workshops interesting, fun and more importantly relevant. I've really enjoyed being involved with our recent global junior, mid and senior associate development centres, I get to work with clever and interesting people and help them acquire new skills and behaviours that serve them well in their careers. The feedback from these programmes has been amongst the best I've seen.
Outside of work my two young children keep me pretty busy, but in my (remaining) spare time I like to cycle, read, watch Arsenal and on occasion get to venture out on my 'classic' 80's Suzuki (GS 850).
