Alex is a partner in the intellectual property and technology team.
Alex joined the firm in 2022 from Diligent, a leading governance software provider, where he spent nearly 4 years, most recently as Assistant General Counsel.Alex specialises in commercial arrangements involving intellectual property, technology and data, including rights acquisitions and disposals, complex outsourcings, software development, portfolio structuring, licensing, procurement and services contracts, with a particular emphasis on the sports, design and innovation sectors.
Alex also has extensive experience advising a broad range of organisations on data privacy matters, including in relation to aspects of new products or services and on commercial arrangements involving personal data.
Me in a minute
I've always wanted to be a lawyer although the reason I was so fascinated by the law was through watching criminal court dramas on tv.
I have steered clear of that particular field during my career, however.
My specific area of expertise requires both a detailed knowledge of the law but also strategic planning and most importantly, a key understanding of the commercial factors that drive business decisions.
My time in-house has definitely aided my experience of the latter. Although I have lived in North London for a while, I am a West Ham fan and have had a season ticket for most of my life.
