The Patagonia effect: Philanthropy in business
Business owners now have an exciting range of ways in which they can dedicate their company to philanthropic causes. Patagonia's founder Yvon Chouinard put down the marker with his decision to gift the company and has inspired others to act. Michael Bloomberg is also expected to transfer his business to Bloomberg Philanthropies, which could be the biggest example of this type of philanthropy to date.
