The Withers tech team has advised TVC Momentum Fund on its investment in SimpliFed, a parental care start up based in the US, as part of a $5.6 million seed investment round. The funding round was led by Morningside Ventures and The Venture Collective, alongside NY Ventures, Elizabeth Street Ventures, Waterline Ventures and 3CC.
TVC Momentum Fund is an investment arm of The Venture Collective (TVC), a venture business focused on supporting fast-growing companies with innovative products and services that make a positive impact on the world. SimpliFed was founded in 2019 by parents who wanted to redesign the system of care surrounding feeding their baby. The platform provides virtual lactation consultants and baby feeding support for new mothers pre- birth and post-partum.
Sarah Melaney, partner in the London office, comments: “SimpliFed’s digitalization of parental care gives new mothers immediate access to practical advice during a period of significant life changes. This is a fantastic investment for TVC and typifies their approach of seeking out and backing new businesses that can really transform specific sectors and change people’s lives for the better.”
Withers tech is the technology, life sciences and venture capital focused team at international law firm Withers. The Withers tech team was led by Sarah, working alongside US associate Frank Tang.
