The Withers tech team has advised venture capital fund, Supernode Global, on a seed funding round of over £1 million in Howbout.
Supernode focuses its investment strategy on seed stage companies building the next generation of digital content tools and platforms. Supernode co-led this round with Boost VC, with participation from Angel Invest as well.
Howbout is a closed-network social platform that focuses on friendships, not social media feeds or followers. It’s a social planning app that socialises the calendar, and combines it with friends, chats & plans.
Sarah Melaney, partner in Withers tech, comments: “Supernode has a unique take on media tech investing and has aptly built a global community supporting the start-up ecosystem. It has been a pleasure to help them invest in Howbout and we look forward to working with them in the future.”
Phoebe Arkell, Principal at Supernode, comments “Withers tech were thoughtful, fast-moving, and balanced their pertinent advice with commercial understanding. They were great to work with and I look forward to doing so again. This deal was also notable for being the first time I’ve had the pleasure of working with an all-female legal team – a nice bonus.”
Withers tech is the technology, life sciences and venture capital focused team at international law firm Withers. The Withers tech team was led by Sarah working alongside senior associate Sarah Manderson, associate Charlotte Berendt, and trainee, Kate Heywood.
