Withers has represented long-term client Charlotte Tilbury, founder of the eponymous make-up business, on the sale of a majority stake to fashion and fragrance company Puig.
The value of the acquisition, in which Puig was joined by co-investor BDT Capital Partners, has not been announced.
Charlotte Tilbury will continue to act as chairman, president and chief creative officer of the brand.
Hugh Devlin, consultant in Withers' fashion and luxury brands team, who led the work on the deal comments: "This deal will be transformational for all of the parties involved, with Charlotte continuing to lead the business on to more success and growth, backed by one of Europe's great luxury brand groups. Representing successful founders like Charlotte is a real area of strength for us, as we have the capabilities to cover every legal issue, alongside a great depth of experience in the industry."
Hugh worked alongside special counsel Ben Simpson and partner Sharon Whitehouse, both of whom had acted on Charlotte's initial funding round in 2012. Other members of the team included partner Rachel Hawkins, senior associates Emilie Pounds and Libby Payne and associate Will Yeeles.
Other law firms involved for the parties in the transaction were Freshfields, Bird & Bird, Pinsent Masons and Baker McKenzie.
