Withers’ corporate partner Ridge Barker was featured in the recent Reuters article, “Explainer: How Robinhood’s public listing ups the regulatory stakes” which discusses the new SEC enforced obligations, including further disclosure and governance/internal controls.
Ridge tells Reuters that these increased regulations will allow for more aware and knowledgeable investors. “As its financial businesses grow in complexity, it gets harder and harder for investors to understand what the risks are,” Barker said. “Internal controls and disclosure requirements will force a better assessment for the specific and general types of risks Robinhood might face.”
