The Human Technology Foundation (“HTF”) recently published “Unlocking Digital Identity: Insights from Use Cases for Enhanced Implementation, Trustworthiness and Individual Empowerment”.
The report aims to guide multiple stakeholders, including policymakers, technology providers, end-users, and society at large, toward realizing the full potential of Digital ID systems. The publication features recommendations and insights across four critical use cases: online protection of minors, health, electronic voting, and authentication of content created by generative AI systems. For each of the four use case areas, the report outlines the context and current state of digital ID; identifies issues and benefits for each area; and makes recommendations to maximize benefits and address issues.
Doron Goldstein, partner and head of the US Data Innovation, Privacy, and Cybersecurity team, was an advisor and contributor to the working group of international advisors assembled by the HTF to research and analyze several international use cases of digital identity. Doron previously contributed to the HTF as an author of the 2020 report titled “Technology Governance in a Time of Crisis”.
