In recent years, investors have placed an increasing importance in having long-term sustainability themes in their investment strategies. Lagging behind in comparison to other jurisdictions such as the EU, Japan has yet to formally legislate laws or regulations on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) mandates and investments. However, notwithstanding this lack of legislation, it is clear that ESG themes will continue to play a large role among Japanese financial institutions – from investment funds managers to institutional investors. Many of the largest allocators in Japan have expressed an increased interest in ESG funds while Japanese financial institutions are seeking to create their ESG focused products.
In this webinar, our practitioners will discuss certain considerations in the formation and management of an ESG fund as well as discuss practical aspects as to how ESG related investments are being made within the Japan real estate space.
We hope to see you (virtually) there.
